As previously mentioned in past blog posts, we started developing XP as a part of a small discord community with less than 50 members. A few years later, it is now our most successful project by far, but with success comes responsibility and a lot of work. In other words, XP has become way too time consuming for us over the past year. Additionally, we can't spend as much time on this project as we used to, which is one of the reasons why XP has been unreliable for a lot of people lately.
The XP community is bigger than ever. With nearly 19k servers and nearly 6m users, we wouldn't want to see this project to go offline just like that. That's why we will keep hosting the project until we found someone that is ready to continue the journey with all of you. Unless absolutely critical, we do not plan on updating the service as it is running relatively stable without major bugs to fix.
From now on, we are looking for someone to continue XP in the future. Even though we do not profit from XP personally, the project is self-sustaining and can even be quite profiting for a small team of developers. We're looking to find someone, who is interested in continuing our mission of providing a feature-rich and free experience for everyone on Discord while maintaining the privacy-first focus of the XP project. If you think, you got what it takes, you might be interested in reading the section below.
You will get full access to the XP GitHub organisation which includes all of the current code of the project, including BugBot and Accountant. Of course, we will also transfer the official XP Bot account to you. If you're interested in continuing BugBot and Accountant, we can also transfer those to you. A purchase would also include:
If you're looking to buy, we can discuss further details with you or your company over any of the following contact options:
