It is with a heavy heart that we announce the retirement of XP on the 15th of December, 2024. Over the years, XP has been more than just a bot; it has been a reliable companion, a source of entertainment, and a pillar of your community. As we prepare to bid farewell, we want to ensure you have all the information you need for a smooth transition and to celebrate the memories we were able to create together.

A Brief History of XP

XP was born out of a desire to enhance our Discord community experience, providing a range of features from leveling systems to role management and mini-games. Since its inception, XP has been instrumental in bringing your communities closer together, helping you make your users interactions more engaging and fun.

Why We Are Retiring XP

The decision to retire XP was not made lightly. Several factors contributed to this decision:

1. Maintenance and Development Challenges: As our user base has grown, so have the technical requirements for maintaining XP. Keeping XP updated and functional has become increasingly complex, resource-intensive, and costly. The demands on our team have reached a point where it is no longer sustainable.
2. Discord’s Malicious Practices Against Small Projects: Recent developments and policies by Discord have made it increasingly difficult for small projects and their developers to thrive. We cannot and do not want to continue supporting these changes, which we believe undermine the spirit of community and innovation that XP was built upon.
3. Focus on New Projects: Our team is excited to embark on new projects that require our full attention. Retiring XP allows us to allocate resources and creativity to new, innovative solutions that will continue to enhance your experience.

XP's Mission and Achievements

XP has enabled users to experience premium features with an immense level of customizability for free. Our mission was to challenge the big bots and their companies that lock essential features behind exorbitant paywalls. In this mission, we have succeeded. Serving over 140,000 servers and a staggering 10 million individual users, we demonstrated to Discord and its user base that an affordable and extensive solution for tracking activity and rewarding it is not only possible but also deeply desired.

What to Expect Leading Up to the Retirement

We understand that XP has become an integral part of your Discord experience, and we want to ensure a seamless transition. Here’s what to expect in the coming weeks:

1. Transition Support: Our team will be available to assist with any questions or concerns you may have during this period.
2. Export Tool: We are working on providing an export tool that will allow users to export server and user settings. This tool will help you retain important data and facilitate the setup of alternative bots. The Export Tool will become available in the following weeks.
